The Seminar on Export Control Legislation and Compliance, co-organized by the Center for Strategic Trade and Security of CAITEC and the Center for International Trade and Security (CITS) of University of Georgia, was held successfully at CAITEC on Mar.10th and 11th. Mr. Gu Xueming, Vice President of CAITEC, addressed the meeting. Almost 50 participants from China, the US, Japan and Republic of Korea attended the meeting, including officials from Ministry of Commerce of China, US Department of Commerce and Department of Energy, experts from CITS, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Korea Strategic Trade Institute (KOSTI), Center for information on Security Trade Control (CISTEC) and the Chinese research institutions concerned, and the chiefs in charge of export control at the transnational corporations from China and the US.

The seminar addressed the topics on export control legislation, system design, and interaction among business, academia and government departments in the process. It was an important initiative for improving the export control system and deepening the multilateral communication on export control.
